SEBASTIAN CASPAR
Iconic architecture expertly developed
Sebastian Caspar is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and singer based in Berlin. He studied classical violin at The Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin, completing his masters degree in 2016 summa cum laude. As a violinist, he has received multiple awards at international competitions, such as 1st prize at Giovanni Talenti in Italy, 3rd prize at the /bolyka-Gyarfas Contest in Germany and the special prize for outstanding ability of interpretation at the Brahms Competition in Austria. He has extensive orchestral experience, having played with the Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie, the Bundesjugendorchester, and the Berliner Philharmoniker.
Sebastian is a co-founder and the concert master of the innovative Stegreif Orchestra, which combines elements of classical symphonies with improvised and recomposed parts, played entirely from memory. Freed from the confines of written music and performing without a conductor, the orchestra supplements its performances with choreographic elements. He has played in leading concert halls like the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Berlin Philharmonie and has performed on German and Dutch television. In addition, he has been invited to teach at the European Music Workshop in Bavaria, giving master classes to exceptional junior students. He has received a five year scholarship from the Yehudi Menuhin Association Live Music Now and is the artistic director of his own festival Sky Concert. Sebastian plays a violin from Samuel Nemessanyi, 1861.
