ABOUT WILDSTRINGS
Both are original members of the Stegreif.orchester and have been recipients of the Live Music Now scholarship, often showcasing their distinctive take on classical music in unique venues and formats. The duo has graced stages at prestigious events and locations such as Stanford University in California, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Ludwigsburg Castle Festival, the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Festival, Bellevue Palace, Nikolaisaal Potsdam, and the Experience House in both Guatemala and Morocco. Their robust schedule of performances is complemented by their debut studio album, scheduled for release in 2024.
They organically expand the sound of the acoustic instruments with electronic sounds. As founding members of the Stegreif.orchester and in projects such as ‘Concerto Varieté”, which they co-developed with artists from Circus Roncalli, they have often been given the opportunity to present their inspiring approach to classical music in unusual contexts. The duo’s appearances at the PODIUM Festival Esslingen, the Oranjewoud Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and Salonfestival, the Festspiele Mecklenburg- Vorpommern, Schloss Bellevue, the Nikolaisaal Potsdam and the Konzerthaus Berlin, among others, round off their busy concert schedule.
The Wild Strings’ first studio album will be released in 2024.
SEBASTIAN CASPAR
Iconic architecture expertly developed
Sebastian Caspar is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and singer based in Berlin. He studied classical violin at The Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin, completing his masters degree in 2016 summa cum laude. As a violinist, he has received multiple awards at international competitions, such as 1st prize at Giovanni Talenti in Italy, 3rd prize at the /bolyka-Gyarfas Contest in Germany and the special prize for outstanding ability of interpretation at the Brahms Competition in Austria. He has extensive orchestral experience, having played with the Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie, the Bundesjugendorchester, and the Berliner Philharmoniker.
Sebastian is a co-founder and the concert master of the innovative Stegreif Orchestra, which combines elements of classical symphonies with improvised and recomposed parts, played entirely from memory. Freed from the confines of written music and performing without a conductor, the orchestra supplements its performances with choreographic elements. He has played in leading concert halls like the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Berlin Philharmonie and has performed on German and Dutch television. In addition, he has been invited to teach at the European Music Workshop in Bavaria, giving master classes to exceptional junior students. He has received a five year scholarship from the Yehudi Menuhin Association Live Music Now and is the artistic director of his own festival Sky Concert. Sebastian plays a violin from Samuel Nemessanyi, 1861.
